Nehemiah Persoff

Some images I found of Mr. Persoff combined with the audio of his farewell to Spats. The paintings can be better viewed on his web site.
Mr. Persoff, btw, lived in Knickerbocker from 1936-1952. In our brief chat (we were interrupted by a call from camp from my daughter) he told me how much he enjoyed living in Knickerbocker, including the views from the roof. He also revealed that the famous yiddish composer and conductor Joseph Rumshinsky also lived in Knickerbocker Village. I hope to talk with him again.
btw "Spats," George Raft almost made the "who's almost who" category. He was born and grew up in Washington Heights
