The Saga Of Birnbaum The Butcher, Part 4: Deliveries

Elinor's story triggered Paul's memory
My mother and Sid (Elinor's Dad) would talk about the business as my mother's father was a butcher. My mother remembers climbing up onto her father's horse/wagon for Manhattan deliveries. He replaced the horse and buggy with a Ford Model T which he drove into a tree the first few days. Since there were no repairman he replaced with the same car. In those days there were no licenses either so the salesman would teach the buyer how to drive.
