A slide show I did a while ago that I rediscovered. I forgot the source of Perkins' oral history,
perhaps the Cornell site. The talk at the Tenement Museum yesterday was excellent. David von Drehle spoke of Frances Perkins, who was in Washington Square on that day, 3/25/1911. She mentions the judge being angry at the owners, but I think the fix was "in." More on this later. A great many of the victims came from the 4th, 6th, 7th and 11th Wards.
