The 100 Year Celebration Of Artie Shaw Confirmation

I was on the les yesterday and wanted to verify that I had the correct photo of Artie Shaw's birthplace at 255 E. 7th Street. Often times the google street view is not accurate with addresses. It turns out I did. When I saw a resident of the building emerge I asked him if he knew who Artie Shaw was.  He answered, "He was born here."! He doubted however that many others there knew. He and his family had a 20 year history in the building and he had heard the same Sara Fishko NPR story that I did last week. In my opinion there should be a plaque placed there.
