Percy Loomis Sperr (1890-1964) captured many of the changes brought on by large scale building projects in the early part of the 1900's. This grouping of images,
set in a slide show, chronicles the changes to Cherry, Catherine, Market and Hamilton Streets when Knickerbocker Village was built in 1934. Unfortunatetly most of these images are a low resolution on the NYPL site. The one linked to the posting is a better example, it shows the changes in the Cherry Street area (further east) when the Vladeck Projects were built in 1939-1940.
