Glory Of Their Times

This slide show is also related to the Glory Days exhibit. The audio soundtrack concentrates on the 1955 World Series between the Dodgers and The Yankees. John Kalish is the broadcast host. Pete Hamill, a Dodger fan who grew up a few blocks from where I live in Windsor Terrace, is featured. Also heard is the late "Grandpa" Al Lewis. If you lived in Knickerbocker Village in the 50's and 60's I would think you would be a Yankee fan. How could you not resist the lure of Mantle and company? There were those however, who chose the underdog role of a Dodger fan. Perhaps too, they inherited their
allegiance to their father's team affiliation. Dodger and Met fans eventually landed in the Mets' camp.
