The George Gogel Story: Part 3

Above: George Gogel's 1918 WW1 draft card. He's 20 years old, short with a medium build. He's working for his father who has a butcher shop at 46 Catherine (Smith Projects now). The family lives at 1442 Herkimer Street. Below: The Gogel house on Herkimer Street, near Sackman Street in the Ocean Hill section of Brooklyn. In the 1910 census Marks Gogel is listed as owning the house. It may have been constructed at around that time.
