Delancey and Willett Street: 1901

These houses probably resemble the houses that Louis Sorin may have lived in just down the block on Willett.

Jack Beers And The Beer(s) Family?

I couldn't find a Jack Beers in the census on the LES that matched his age. But I found a Samuel Beers who might be him living at 170 East 7th Street

Could Jack (Samuel) be related to a Bueller family of Knickerbocker whose mother's family was named Beer. Both the Beer and Beers hailed from Galicia, Austria. Hmmmmm.

Avenue C

Some old pics I had of the Avenue A, B, C, and D area from a few years ago. A neighborhood study school project may be in the works for an Avenue B school. I had forgotten about a similar slide show done to this great Lambert, Hendricks, Ross version of an old Count Basie tune. It's a lot better than a more recent Manilow version.

Liberty Hall: Then And Now

I can't find 1900 era pics of the Apollo Hall, but it may have looked like a wedding at the Liberty Hall, which was located at 357 E. Houston Street. The site later was occupied by a Boys' Club.
