The George Gogel Story: Part 6

In 1930 George is married to Tessie and he lives at 72 Madison Street. He's working in a grocery store, maybe the one on the east side of Catherine that most older KVers are familiar with. 72 Madison is a big apartment house around the corner from Catherine. I counted 127 people living in the building in the census. Also living in the building is Morton White's (Weisberger) family and the Dolansky's, who later moved to Knickerbocker Village and who had a store on Catherine Street.
