Brooklyn Waterfront: Views Of Knickerbocker Village

One weekend this summer I took in a waterfront festival taking place at Fulton Ferry Park in the neighborhood known as DUMBO. (an acronym for "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass" or "Down Under Manhattan Brooklyn Overpass") Among the activities were a kayak race along the East River. Visible in several slides is Knickerbocker Village and the old Journal American Building. Karney and I got our introduction to this song at University Settlement Camp in the summer of 61 or 62?
Michael row the boat ashore, hallelujah
Michael row the boat ashore, hallelujah

My brothers and sisters are all aboard, hallelujah
My brothers and sisters are all aboard, hallelujah
Michael row the boat ashore, hallelujah
Michael row the boat ashore, hallelujah

The river is deep and the river is wide, hallelujah
Milk and honey on the other side, hallelujah
Michael row the boat ashore, hallelujah
Michael row the boat ashore, hallelujah

Jordan's river is chilly and cold, hallelujah
Chills the body but not the soul, hallelujah
Michael row the boat ashore, hallelujah
Michael row the boat ashore, hallelujah
