

In 1930 the Erde's were living at 286 East Broadway. By all indications it appeared to be a large apartment house with some relatively "well-healed" tenants. There were business owners that lived there and people that even had maids. I suspect it might be the building that the arrow is pointing to. The 286 address is just about where East Broadway would meet Grand Street. There is a small park there now named for John Francis Ahearn (1853-1920), a Tammany Hall politician Ahearn once resided at 296 East Broadway
